10/20/2017 0 Comments Update from TanzaniaMy friend Renee and her husband Nehemiah have set up a shop online so that you can purchase goods made locally in Tanzania. The proceeds will help them purchase plane tickets so that they can deliver their baby in the U.S. Here's a link to Maphie's Tanzania Support Shop: www.facebook.com/maphiesupportshop/
I got to message with Renee on Facebook and I asked her what they had been working on lately. Here's a little bit of what she shared: "We currently have two special needs girls that we are looking for a school to get them enrolled in! It is very challenging to find a school that will take disabled. And here you can't just call the school and talk with them, you physically have to go. So, we've been arranging those visits and Nehemiah has been accompanying them!" So cool all that they do on a day to day basis. Please join me in praying for them or supporting them through a purchase or financial gift. Thanks so much! 10/16/2017 0 Comments commitmentCoach Masaki Matsumoto said commitment is not giving up even when things aren't going your way. He defined confidence as knowing you have put in the work. He said love means you can depend on me. So simple, so true. He is one of the inspirations for this blog as he reminded me of the power of words and taking time to truly understand what they mean. ESPN featured him in the E60 documentary, "Lettermen."
Commitment, confidence, love. Those words are important to me. Jesus was filled with them. Commitment to His mission to rescue us, confidence in His Heavenly Father, and love for God and His people. Commitment, confidence, love. "So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6 Lord, please help us to be committed to you and those in our life - to not give up even when it feels like things aren’t going our way, to put in the work - to read your word and do our best in everything we do, to love so that others can depend on us and come to know You. Thank you for being the ultimate example for us. In your mighty name, Amen. Do you give up when things aren’t going your way? How can you be more committed to your calling or those in your life? This is one of nineteen words that I've written about and am sharing to raise money for a friend in need. If you have been encouraged by this and would like to read more, click here: My mission... |
